The Bachelor of Finance and Banking (Full Track) is a three-year undergraduate programme designed with a staged recognition and qualification structure, allowing learners to obtain industry-relevant qualifications at each year of study and to enter the labour market even before completing the full programme. Capstone Project in Finance and Banking (60 UK Credits)

The Capstone Project is a comprehensive assessment that integrates all knowledge and competencies accumulated by students throughout the programme. Learners are required to:

  • Analyse domestic and international finance and banking environments, including capital markets, money markets, and global financial trends.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of enterprises, financial institutions, or investment projects using financial analysis tools, valuation, and financial management.
  • Design and assess financial strategies, capital mobilisation strategies, cash flow management, and capital structure.
  • Analyse and manage financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk in the banking sector.
  • Assess compliance with accounting standards, banking regulations, corporate governance requirements, and financial legal frameworks.
  • Apply digital technologies in finance and banking, such as FinTech, digital banking, data analytics, financial modelling, and AI, to enhance decision-making effectiveness and organisational competitiveness.

Upon graduation, students will receive:

  • Level 5 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Business from OTHM (UK government-recognized, equivalent to Year 2 of a Bachelor’s degree in the UK ENIC/NARIC Band 8).
  • Level 6 Diploma in Accounting and Business from OTHM (UK government-recognized, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in the UK ENIC/NARIC Band 9).
  • Bachelor of Finance and Banking from SIMI Swiss.
  • Learners must be at least 18 years old at the start of the course and have completed high school or an equivalent qualification.
  • Mature learners (aged 21 and above) with management experience may also be considered; applicants should confirm eligibility with SwissUK™ before registration.
  • English proficiency at CEFR level B1 or IELTS 5.0

The SwissUK degree awarded by SIMI is recognised for employment in Switzerland without any additional procedures, as the position of Specialist in Finance and Accounting belongs to the group of occupations that do not require a professional licence.

The Governments of Switzerland and the United Kingdom have signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement on Professional Qualifications, effective from 01/01/2025. Under this agreement, professional qualifications issued in either country may be submitted for recognition when applying for a professional licence in the other country, including professions that fall under the professionally regulated category—those requiring a licence to practise.
